When selecting the right grinding tool for a surface preparation job,the following factors need to be considered:

2.Size of the diamonds (grit)
3.Diamond concentration
4.Shape of the segment
5.Pressure on each segment (number of segments under the
machine and the machine's weight)
6.Material being ground (soft, hard or abrasive)
7.Desired end result
The segments on a diamond grinding wheel consist of a mixture of diamonds and metal powders, the so-called bond. The bond plays a key role in a tool's performance as it determines the strength of the material that can be ground. With time the diamonds fracture or are pulled out of the bond. Simultaneously the bond wears away exposing new diamonds. Here it is important to select the right bond for the material being ground
