Description
Technical Parameters
The Newg Grinding Plate is a metal bond diamond grinding tool specifically designed for NewGrind series floor grinders (including Rhino models). It features a double rectangular segment design – two diamond segments side by side on each plate, with high‑concentration industrial diamonds locked in a sintered metal bond.
What does the Newg Grinding Plate do?
Simply put, it's the "dedicated shoe" for NewGrind floor grinders. In a complete floor grinding workflow, the Newg Grinding Plate handles the heavy lifting – coarse leveling, coating removal, and opening the concrete surface.
Key features:
Double rectangular segment design: Two segments work together – larger contact area, more uniform grinding. Beveled double‑segment versions also available for smoother entry.
Sintered metal bond: Diamond particles uniformly distributed in the metal matrix – fresh diamonds continuously exposed as the bond wears.
Wide grit range: From 16# (coarse) to 200#+ (pre‑polish preparation).
Six bond hardness options: Extremely Soft, Very Soft, Soft, Hard, Very Hard, Extremely Hard – precisely matched to concrete strength.
Wet and dry: Wet grinding extends life and reduces dust; dry grinding with a vacuum also works.
As a source factory, we support full customization: grit size, bond hardness, and segment shape.

For stripping epoxy, paint, adhesives, VCT mastic, black tar adhesive, and thick rubber materials – use coarse grit (16#–30#) + metal bond Newg Grinding Plates. The metal bond's aggressive action "chews" through coatings.
For extra‑thick or sticky coatings, consider PCD (Polycrystalline Diamond) Newg Grinding Plates – PCD doesn't "grind," it "scrapes" coatings off with extremely high efficiency.
Technique tip: Grind coatings at low speed. High speed creates friction heat – the coating melts and smears onto the plate. Slow and steady – let the plate "scrape" rather than "grind."
We offer both standard diamond Newg Grinding Plates and PCD Newg Grinding Plates.
The double rectangular segment is the core design feature of the Newg Grinding Plate.
Two segments working together means:
Larger contact area: Two segments per plate contact the floor – more stable and uniform than single‑segment
Smoother finish: Dual‑point support reduces vibration during grinding – flatter surface
Longer life: Two segments share the grinding load – each wears more slowly
Select models also feature beveled double segments – the segment edges have a bevel for smoother entry, no "bouncing," especially effective for coating removal and coarse leveling.
The core of grinding tool procurement is cost per square meter – not unit price.
A set of Newg Grinding Plates on medium‑hard concrete – life depends on concrete hardness, aggregate type, and technique. High‑concentration diamonds in the metal bond mean fewer replacements and lower project costs.
Total cost = plate price ÷ square meters ground + change‑out labor + downtime + rework cost
If one set grinds 1.5x the area of a standard plate, 20‑30% higher unit price actually means lower cost per sqm. Plate changes mean downtime – an hour of downtime on a floor grinder costs far more than a set of plates.
Our advice: Sample first. Calculate cost per square meter – not plate price.
