Technical Parameters
Diamond Grinding Wheels for Concrete – From coarse grinding to high-gloss polish, one wheel does the job. Metal bond for coating removal, resin bond for the finish.
Concrete grinding wheels mount on angle grinders or floor grinders to grind concrete. Different from cutting blades-blades "cut through" material; wheels "grind away" material. One makes a kerf, the other makes a surface.
Most grinding wheels fall into two categories: metal bond and resin bond.
Metal bond wheels lock diamond particles in a metal matrix. As the metal wears, fresh diamonds are exposed-continuous sharpness. Built for heavy work-removing old coatings, stripping epoxy, leveling uneven slabs. Hard concrete (above 4,000 PSI) requires metal bond, otherwise it won't grind.
Resin bond wheels hold diamonds in a resin matrix. Finer grinding, won't scratch the surface. Built for fine grinding and polishing. Soft concrete (below 3,000 PSI) works best with resin bond-the surface comes out like a mirror.
Customers often mix these up-using resin wheels to strip epoxy (wears out in minutes), or metal wheels to polish (leaves deep scratches). Choosing the wrong bond is the #1 waste of budget.
We're the source factory. We have both. Tell us your job-we'll tell you which wheel.
This is the most common question-and the easiest to get wrong. Direct comparison:
| Feature | Metal Bond | Resin Bond |
|---|---|---|
| Cutting action | Aggressive removal | Fine grinding |
| Primary use | Coating removal, epoxy stripping, leveling | Fine grinding, polishing, gloss |
| Best for concrete | Hard (>4,000 PSI) | Soft (<3,000 PSI) |
| Grit range | Coarse (16#–120#) | Medium-fine (80#–3000#) |
| Speed | Fast | Medium |
| Surface finish | Rough | Smooth |
| Life | Long | Medium |
Quick guide:
Stripping epoxy, removing paint, leveling bumps → metal bond, coarse grit (16#–30#)
Fine grinding, polishing, densified floors → resin bond, medium-fine grit (80#–3000#)
Same project: metal first, resin second-metal for leveling, resin for the finish
Applications & Advantages
Diamond grinding wheel for concrete with hand held applications, dedicated to floor specialists and construction professionals. Offers the highest performance in all floor preparation applications.
A wide range of diamond grit can be choose and different bonds are developed for different applications – concrete, marble, granite, etc.
Concrete repairs, floor flattening and aggregate exposure.
Specific support for natural and improved dust extraction.
Exclusive designed segments shape for more active jobs.
Optimal removal rate.
Notes:

The grit is the particle size of the diamond held in the bond and determines the finish. The lower the number, the larger the piece of diamond (coarser grit). The higher the number, the smaller the piece of diamond (finer grit). Generally several steps with different grits are required to achieve the desired results.
Generally speaking, the higher the grit, the finer the finish.
First, a low grit is used for aggressive removal of coatings, then higher grits are used to remove scratches from lower grits, polish the concrete and lastly achieve a shiny surface.
If the concrete is in really good shape and you are after more of a salt and pepper finish, it is best not to start with 30/40 grit and move straight to 60/80 grit. This way you will not expose as much aggregate, but you will end up with a smoother floor after just one step, rather than having to remove 30/40 grit scratches if there is no need to.
